We’ve covered a lot of ground so far, so here’s a reminder of where we’ve been:

Variables are just labels covering numbers that we don’t yet know.

The purpose of algebra is to find those numbers.

You can substitute one equation into another one.

You can add, subtract, multiply or divide one side of an equation as long as you do the same to the other side as well.

If you get two variables that cancel each other out, you can remove them.

Brackets avoid confusion.

You can change the order of variables as long as you stick to some rules.
